RainbowDolphin

Fast-moving, undersea mammals native to the JellicalCoast and the KelpieBank. They have a gland that excretes an oil over their hide that renders them a shimmering haze of myriad colors. Moderately intelligent, they swim in pods of three to twelve.

Considered a delicacy by Myriapodia. Used as a crest by a small Mer house.

Sometimes rainbow oil is used to prepare the skin of a human for a prolonged visit to the deeps, it being a little more flexible in use than UltraBlack, and cheaper. It does stain clothes terribly, though, so watch out!
