Front Page LanguageOfFlowers

A courtly code of innuendo, flattery and insults. Flowers and their colors combine to make simple statements such as 'inappropriate love' and 'fairweather friend' or 'stalwart against trouble'. It is prone to regionalisms and shifts of trend - a popular flower becomes suddenly washed clean of its nastier connotations and something well out of season takes on the shame.

The XerxinePeninsula actually grows some of these most popular flowers in bulk, for courtly missives and perfumes.

QueenMyriada has a hungry interest in flowers and their language, and collects as many as she can, preserved in wax and bottled. She sends her own aquatic blooms to the LuftBaroness and DuchessFiredrake out of mutual interest.

Comments, disputes, footnotes, addenda:

QueenMyriada's XerophyllicGarden? hosts many a surface bloom, though the contrivances to provide sunlike light are less than perfect, and the complex water and air circulation need constant tending. Still, it is a pleasant and beautiful place under a crystal dome.

My Senior attempted to remain in the DeepCourt by resorting to the XerophyllicGarden?, but even so, her distress compelled her to return to the surface, leaving me, as it were, over my head.

The LanguageOfFlowers is a core feature of the QuinaryCouplets, as pioneered by my close, personal friend, KendelDung.

"Shall I compare thee to a summer rose, for the bees are drawn to thy smell."

Classic poetry, my good sir. Classic.
