Front Page NilloWixNight

NilloWixNight is the official boundary between fall and winter in the HighCourt, a holiday that shifts slightly in observation since tradition holds that the night when the last leaf falls off of the WealArbor is NilloWixNight. In the DeepCourt, we've adopted a similar marker for NilloWixNight; when the thermoclines off of the Zarine and the XerxinePeninsula shift upward, signalling the winter currents and temperature distribution in the water.

It is a night to reflect on the good harvests of the year and tell histories to one another, like a bedtime story before winter's blanket is pulled over the world. It is also a haunted night, when the failures of a year may come calling. So it is said.

As an adult I've found that it's a night to drink and tell lies to friends who will politely pretend to believe you.

Comments, addenda, jibber-jabber, yes-ands

Yes, and in the DeepCourt, NilloWixNight often marks a shift in seasonal migrations, as waters become more or less hospitable due to changing currents of warmth and nutrients. The deep cold tickling at your toes is an unmistakable sign of the shift.
