Front Page Zarine

Deep, dark, nary a beech in sight yet is the one true home of we Selkie. We fled the Rending to Zarine and here the NarwhalGallant saved our people, so it felt a right place to stay and raise our pups.

I grew up in Zarine.

It is a grand trench filled with a maze of dagger coral. Scattered about are countless caves with inexplicably fresh air. In each you'll either find a fiendish trap or a Selkie home. Few outsiders are welcome, it is where our pups play after all.

Above swim pods of NarwhalGallant, our guardians and our foe's curse. At the very bottom of Zarine is their and our graves, tended by Selkie Knights pure and strong.

In Zarine is the throne of our beloved KingProteus. I couldn't tell you where it sits even if I wanted, the palace moves dearies, you won't be able to find it.

Commentary, footnotes, disputes, refutations, addenda:

Lone travelers are typically contacted by a representative of the OrpheneClasp shortly after arriving. I was questioned by PhoqueVin in the days before he became linked to NasheFitzagua and disappeared.

I stayed in accommodations provided by ArchebellochTradingCompany, who have a significant outpost there. TrenchUnder is essentially halfway in the Zarine although there seems to have been some squabbling about that when VarixArchebelloch was trying to ignore Selkie export laws. Xie sorted it out with KingProteus in the end.

If you can be in the Zarine for VentherNight you will not be disappointed. Feasts to rival anything in the HighCourt.

I'm loathe to visit the Zarine these days, the coolness of its waters gets deep into my bones. Still, it's the largest and most permanent Selkie territories, and thus also the most significant. If you want to learn diving, sailing and WinderWave techniques that are safe around the NarwhalGallant, this is the place you'll have to find a willing local pilot to teach you.

GallantIvory is an extremely touchy subject when it comes to exports, but it's good for the community that at least some gets out (and gets taxed fiercely) lest poaching ships decide the scarcity makes the risk worth it.
