None can accuse KingProteus of being out of touch with his people. The DeepCourt? Oh, all the time. It's easy to ignore the constant stream of NodRing missives, letters, and messengers that result from his travels. He is a very clever fighter and in the prime of health, as many Selkies are well past their middle age. The sea does not offer much of a retirement to nomads. People wonder how he keeps the rights to shores his people use only one season out of a year locked tightly to him.

People who are more perceptive wonder things like this; how many body doubles does he have? Who are the OrpheneClasp? Does he know who stole a shipment of OrboLanterns from the ArchebellochTradingCompany? What will he show the world this GrandSummer?
