Doctor Wintertop has avoided telling me how he came to such prominence in HighCourt, but I suspect he spent a considerable amount of time in some of the more esoteric lands before arriving here. One does not acquire the mantle of a eidolon-aided sawbones in isolation.
I find a number of his relationships to be intriguing, not least his frequent Bridge partner DuchessFiredrake. That the woman manages not to execute someone for long enough to play a game of Bridge is much contrary to her reputation.

Commentary, footnotes, disputes, refutations, addenda:
A miracleworker, DoctorWintertop holds the occasional lecture for the FloatingSchools. We are ever grateful for his time, which is in high demand from the nobility that can best afford his services. I am currently paying my eldest child's way through an apprenticeship with him.

Following one tight skirmish with the TattooedGriffinRiders I had the dubious pleasure of coming under the knife of DoctorWintertop. His determination to bleed me on every limb made me prefer the safety of battle.
But, dem his eyes, that firewater of his certainly dulled the pain!

One morning I was breakfasting upon a balcony above the orchards that grow upon the Esplanade midway up the PythagrianCliffs? when I was set upon by surprise by a troupe of MonoAera. They flew off with my best slate holder, trimmed with iridescent nacre, but worse, they left me deeply marked with their claws.
DoctorWintertop was key to my recovery. See, all smooth? But sometimes now in a mirror I see a flash of iridescence off my cheek or my shoulder, and wonder about the subtle marks of his healing regimen.
