MeridianBalance

The founding of the MeridianBalance is really the moment when the HighCourt became the thing we know it to be today. As the lander regions began to knit closer together in trade and political affairs, the differences in regional calendars, hourkeeping and mapping standards caused great confusion and waste. WithwinTally proposed a solution - declare an agreed-upon Meridian based on the SapphireDome?'s alignment and use that to base distance and time.

It was an innovative idea, proposed naively, wielded heavily by the forming alliance that would be the HighCourt. Many border disputes arose out of the remapping that occurred, and the eviction of the MoonShadowWarriors was an afterthought to it.

The great MeridianBalance was a master stroke of diplomacy and politics. The foundation of the HighCourt on the calculated understanding of the SapphireDome? was the act of the genius.

The stress of mediating the MeridianBalance took a fearful toll on WithwinTally's mind, and much of her later work is shallow, fanciful and often ghost-written. I fear she is under some malign influence.

One fascinating consequence of the MeridianBalance has been the discovery of the RiftLines?. As times and surveying transects were standardized, a number of areas were discovered where there was persistent inconsistency of time and distance measurements.
