The RiftLines? seem to bear an uncanny symmetry to many of the pilgrim routes.
There are many believers in the Pilgrammage, not least DuchessFiredrake, who has gone so far as to create a replica of every shrine, even the OuterChordStations?, not in Westinton? but within her own hall at HighCourt in the SingingTower for what she's calling her TopographicalProcession?. She's throwing the event shortly before the ceremonies at GrandSummer, and is reported to pick some sort of favorite from the crowd to take part in the festivities.

Apparently there is some sort of prestige in doing the pilgrimage quickly instead of savoring it - fast as the wind, perhaps? It is popular to make the Pilgrimage between the start of spring and NilloWixNight, with summer as the peak for travel since so many high altitude and chilly places are on the route.
